Overview:

Sentara Obici Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated RN Unit Coordinator to join our Emergency Department on the Full-Time Day Shift. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong clinical nurse who enjoys leading others, driving quality care, and making a difference in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

In this leadership role, you’ll demonstrate proficiency in emergency nursing practice and provide clinical guidance to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care. Working under the direction of the department manager, you’ll lead safety and quality initiatives, streamline workflows, mentor staff, and promote Gold Standard customer service for every patient and family we serve.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership and serve as a resource for nursing staff within the Emergency Department.
  • Lead and participate in quality and safety initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Support team development through mentoring, training, and collaboration.
  • Assist with process improvements to simplify workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Promote teamwork, communication, and a positive work environment.


Qualifications:

  • 18 months of nursing experience required.
  • BSN required; master’s degree preferred. (If the graduate degree is not in nursing, a BSN is still required.)
  • Valid RN license in the state of Virginia (or compact state).
  • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.
  • De-escalation and physical intervention training required within 90 days of hire.
